Introducing RI Home

River Island showcases its first homeware collection with pop-up and it was full of energy. On a square in Soho the townhouse windows groaned with country flowers in blues and pinks, a DJ pumped out Michael Jackson and even though it was only early in the morning, the RI Home was buzzing.

I was there to checkout the new homeware collection from River Island in its three incarnations – Electric Opulence, Baby Doll and New Nordic. The 160 pieces span candles and diffusers, soft furnishings, décor accessories, furniture, storage and oodles of cushions!

Electric Opulence was right up my street – bright colours, great textures and sparkle. Tiger prints on oversized velvet cushions, stroke-up-and-down sequins in blues and silvers and large candlesticks in neon blues and pinks. Bold, bright and electric; so they got this one right. This gold tiger at only £8.99

Baby Doll was a mix of pinks in furs, piping and fluff! Not so exciting, but I am trying to move out of Millennial pink!

New Nordic was a more textured approach – with a few highlights,  the white bowls and vases lined in gold, and berry coloured shaggy cushions popping out against the grey.
