Smartcard for Wine Tasting

A smartcard for sampling wine?

Erm, we’ll drink to that!

Best Small Wine Shop 2011 – Telegraph Magazine, Bottle Apostle has 16 different wines available to taste daily with their smartcard and over 500 wines in store to buy.

How Does It Work?

Just ask a member of the team for a free Bottle Apostle Smartcard, then YOU top it up with credit and set off exploring.

The Enomatics are self- service, with one nicely chilled for whites, while the other runs at room temperature for the reds. Simply insert your credit, select the wine and amount you wish to sample and the Enomatics will do the rest.

The London shops stock international wines and updates its portfolio with around 40 new varieties every month, several of which are exclusive to Bottle Apostle.

In store has a very simple layout, allowing you to move around and shout out questions as you browse and sample.

The team are happy to help, and offer personal recommendations – but if you’d prefer to have a good look and taste by yourself, each bottle is accompanied by a short staff review and food pairing.

The shop will host free tastings every Friday evening, as they currently do in east London.

By arrangement, the shop can also cater for larger crowds wanting to have a private tasting session, or for a party who wish to do something different.

Chris, the shop’s General Manager says “You can school yourself about the world of wine or just buy a bottle safe in the knowledge that you’ll love it.” He says “Our goal is to make buying wine interesting, easy and good fun.”

It certainly sounds like it.

The new Apostle will open on Tuesday 3rd April and we will be there with our fully charged Smartcards at the ready.

Opening hours are Tuesday – Friday 12- 9pm. Saturday 10 – 8pm and Sunday 10 – 6pm.
