Tommy Guns Flagship Store on Regent Street

This week sees the launch of Tommy Guns flagship branch on London’s Regent Street. The ladies and gents hair salon is located beneath the new 9,500 sq. ft. Superdry world flagship store.

The interior design is being created in-house by Tommy Guns co-founder Steven Ross.

Vivid Brighton’s  Jose Vides, who designed the branding, says he’s ‘chuffed’ to get the commission and that ‘it’s gonna be a beauty.’

It certainly is – we were lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the Grade I listed premises during their restoration and you can see the photos below. It’s a beautiful, opulent space true to its 1920s art deco roots.

The interiors of the new space reference the site’s 1929 incarnation as an Austin Reed barbers designed and built by Percy Westwood and Joseph Emberton. It’s been lovingly restored and the salon’s original features have been blended with modern twists to create an iconic salon cemented in British heritage.

Original features such as travertine marble floors with a spider web footprint, twelve 1930s barber chairs and original mirrors, barbers’ stainless steel cabinets are all beautifully lit-under the serpentine neon chandeliers.

Paul Jukes, managing director at Vivid, says, ‘It’s following a 1920s vibe, but it’s going to have a very aged, yet still very stylish look.’

Tommy Guns has invited Nailporn Nail Art from Sophy Robson and Lash Perfect Eyelash Design to set up shop and you can also expect some cool creations from them.

Each hairdresser in the Regent St branch has at least 10 years experience and they are expecting a cool, younger walk-in crowd. See here how to get the 1920’s look for hair.

Steven Ross says he’d love to have Lana Del Ray (Tommy Guns created a ‘get the Lana Look’ here  for ID Magazine), Pixie Lott and Alexa Chung in the chair. No word on whether there’s video games but there is VIP parking so that’s quite likely then.
