The Drawing Rooms: Artisanal Coffee, Champagne, Sweet & Savoury Plates

The Ampersand Patisserie Lounge

The Ampersand Patisserie Lounge

French finesse meets British style in the Drawing Rooms – the luxurious heart of The Ampersand Hotel serving afternoon tea in Kensington.

Set on the ground floor of the hotel, The Drawing Rooms reflects Albertopolis, the cultural quarter of South Kensington, boasting a beautiful patisserie lounge where both hotel guests and local residents can enjoy artisanal, premium coffee complimented by sweet & savoury pastries to be enjoyed in the romantic setting of over-sized armchairs and hand-woven rugs. It’s also a decadent space from which to enjoy a London afternoon tea.  With deep sofas and studded armchairs, scarlet velvets, and kingfisher blues, this is where the English drawing-room meets the ‘salon de thé’ – the whole instilled with a contemporary Ampersand feel.

Lunch and early evening bites include French-inspired tartelettes, edible cocktails served in elegant glasses and tasting plates showcasing a selection of Anglo-French influences. From charcuterie to salads that rely on the best possible ingredients, eating here is about savouring great flavours at any hour of the day.

By early evening, Kensington locals gather for a glass of Champagne in a delicate flute from our vintage drinks cabinet.

The Drawing Rooms at Ampersand Kensington boutique hotel are open from 7am until midnight Monday to Sunday.
