Urban Bikes from Pitango

pitango urban bikes logoPitango Bikes are pioneering a return to beautifully crafted, high quality, stylishly designed bespoke bikes for men and women. Launching in summer 2013 by three young London-based entrepreneurs and ‘fixie’ fans, Pitango’s new collection of vibrant bikes offers an alternative to clunky cycles in murky colours.

Featuring hot colours, from racing green and pillar box red to canary yellow and powder blue, Pitango Bikes have streamlined steel frames in Pantone shades.  With customers able to pick their own colour combinations and design features, Pitango Bikes are aimed at everyone from fashionable hipsters and stylish students to style-conscious commuters and weekend day trippers.

Dutch style

The Pitango brand is centred on the love of style and ‘designing great bikes for good people’. The brain-child of Oriya, Simon and Ilan, three young entrepreneurs from Israel and London, the idea for Pitango was born after former carpenter Ilan got his first fixie bike in London and got bored with seeing the same designs and colours over the city. Launching first in the bustling, cycle-focused metropolis of Tel Aviv, Pitango then grew from Simon’s mum’s garage in North London and the brand is now launching its first shop in London in fashionable Fitzrovia.

Classic

Beginning with a high quality steel frame that’s either a classic road bike or step-through Dutch style in vibrant rainbow shades, customers choose their handlebar style and their favourite colour combinations for the bike’s tyres, rims, wheels, chain set, seat and bar tape. The build is streamlined but sturdy with chromo steel lugged forks and thick 28mm tyres for a balanced and comfortable ride, plus a choice of one or three gears.

The bikes are available online at www.pitangobikes.com

Prices start from £375

The delivery time of the bikes is 4-5 days. Pitango bikes are available in 35 shops across the UK.
