Crate Brewery & Pizzeria at Hackney Wick

Crate Brewery is the first craft brewery and pizzeria in Hackney Wick, one of east London’s upcoming areas and Olympic Park neighbour.

Located in The White Building, one of the Olympic Legacy projects outside of the Park, Crate is a unique location for locals and visitors to enjoy locally brewed beer and stone baked pizzas.

Situated canal-side in a former print factory, the brewery is the idea of the owners of Hackney Wick cafe ‘The Counter’.

You can see how local artists used old bedsprings for lighting, a bar from reused sleepers and tables and benches from wooden pallets on the brewery’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/cratebrewery

Brewed on-site, Crate’s beers currently include Crate India Pale Ale, Crate Golden Ale and Crate Lager, with Crate Stout, Wheat and Best due to join the ranks in the coming months. In addition to Crate’s own brews, the bar also serves a variety of speciality beers from other craft breweries around the world.

Crate serves up eight different types of stone baked pizzas, including Sage & Truffle Potato, Middle Eastern Lamb, Sweet Potato, Gorgonzola & Walnut and Laksa Chicken, priced from £8 to £12.

Over the Olympic period, Crate’s beers will also be available at Victoria Park’s Pavilion Café as the exclusive beer partner of the café’s new summer beer garden.
