Campari Adds a Dash of Passion to the Red Carpet at Festival de Cannes

Carrying on with a cocktail theme we were delighted to be invited to toast Campari’s official partnership with 75th Festival de Cannes on a beach in the warm, salty night air.

To mark Campari’s first year as an official partner of the Festival de Cannes, the brand hosted a spectacularly cinematic evening at the Palais Stéphanie Beach and you could see the vibrant red lighting beaming into the night sky from all over the Croissette.

Much as we love a dashing waiter greeting us at the door with a silver tray of champagne flutes, this reception line took our breath away. Bumping into a black cube at the entrance, guests were invited to answer a question that would reflect their film preference, activating a visual environment based on their favourite genre. Guests were then served a specially curated cocktail made by a hidden mixologist, delivered through the wall. Yes, a cocktail from a cube.

Campari Night in Cannes where guests turn into protagonists

For this event  the Camparino in Galleria bar created a unique cocktail, the Red Carpet – Cannes Edition. A mix of Campari with Espolòn Tequila Blanco, sea leaf infused Fino Sherry, Cinzano Vermouth Blanco, Wray & Nephew Overproof Rum with saline syrup and bitter orange, garnished with orange peel.  We knew exactly where we were, at a glamorous Mediterranean beach party, savouring fresh and salty undertones.

You don’t need reminding that Campari is the unforgettable ingredient sitting at the heart of some of the world’s most famous and best-selling cocktails, such as the iconic Negroni and the contemporary Campari Spritz.

  • 35ml Campari
  • 20ml Espolòn Tequila Blanco
  • 15ml sea leaf infused Fino Sherry
  • 15ml Cinzano Vermouth Bianco
  • 5ml salt syrup
  • 2 dash bitter orange
  • 2 dash Wray & Nephew overproof rum
  • Cider essence

Garnish: orange peel

Method: stir and strain

Glass: old fashioned

The evening was the perfect backdrop to discover the taste of Campari, again and again. Roll titles, cue theme music, exit left.
