O2 is running an innovative hiring process this summer for fresh tech talent.
For the winner: A 12 month paid internship with O2’s flagship innovation team – The Lab.
The Lab is an innovation team powered by O2, set up in 2011 to rapidly test new ideas and concepts in a completely open environment.
Projects have ranged from combining giant iPhones with Kinect sensors to rapid app development to real-time Eurovision polling analysis.
Innovators are invited to create something – hardware or software – that subverts the original purpose of a device by making it do something it’s not supposed to do.
Think combining a Raspberry Pi with a microwave or using a phone camera to measure heart rate.
Once created, entrants blog or record a video (deadline Sept 6th) about the hack and come prepared to demo it to The Lab at Campus Party 2013, the world’s largest tech festival coming to the O2 Arena 2-6 September.
The winner gets a 12 month paid internship at The Lab, and 10 runners-up will win free tickets and travel to Campus Party 2014.
