Stellar Eight Stories High Line-up for Oxfam’s 70th Birthday

Oxfam presents Eight Stories High – a unique event to celebrate its  70th anniversary featuring Kristin Davis, Michael Eavis, Ian Hislop, Raymond Blanc, Bonnie Wright and Richard Reed.

A stellar line-up of Oxfam supporters will be taking to the stage at the Oxford Playhouse on Sunday 14th October for Eight Stories High, an exclusive evening of storytelling, performance, big ideas and surprises.  Celebrating Oxfam’s 70th anniversary, the unique, star-studded event promises a moving evening filled with tales of courage, passion, innovation and perspiration in Oxford where Oxfam began.

Each of the special guests, including actress and Oxfam Global Ambassador Kristin Davis and Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis, will share a remarkable story, providing a unique insight into what leaders in business, entertainment and the arts feel about the world we live in.  Joining these stars on stage will be journalists John Simpson CBE and Ian Hislop, Harry Potter actress Bonnie Wright, acclaimed author Victoria Hislop, Oxfordshire’s favourite top chef Raymond Blanc and Innocent Drinks founder Richard Reed, who is fronting the new BBC3 series Be Your Own Boss.  

Uplifting performances will include Tabu Flo, an afro urban dance company from Uganda, whose aim is to inspire, create and exchange creativity. The evening will also include exclusive video contributions by Oxfam Global Ambassadors Colin Firth, Livia Firth and Angélique Kijdo.

Richard Reed says: “As someone who runs a business, I’ve been really bowled over by my experiences with Oxfam. I’ve spent time with communities who have so little, but are achieving so much and witnessed real-life stories that are truly transformational.”
