The Collective has launched Straight Up, a thick, glossy, creamy and versatile live yoghurt that t1astes like yoghurt used to!
I do remember yoghurt like this – as a student inter railing round Europe it was the cheapest (and most recogniseable) thing to buy from a Spar – a six pack of plain yoghurt. It had often separated in the sun but was fantastically edible, clean and simple. It became quite an acquired taste and now I am pleasantly reminded of it with this tasty product from The Collective -farms ahead in taste and style.
Eaten ‘au-naturel’ straight-up from the tub, in smoothies or used as a versatile culinary ingredient, creating savoury and sweet dishes using unsweetened yoghurt as a ‘blank canvas’ for culinary experimentation. Packed full of probiotics, and made from West Country milk, Straight Up has a cooler, clean, tangy and “old school” taste – sharper than many of the milder yoghurts available now. Originally from New Zealand but now also made in Somerset.
Think about using it to bring festive flavours to life this Christmas, such as a tenderising marinade for chicken, red meat and fish, or as a base for dips or creamier salad dressings.
As you’d expect it is free from sugar, sweeteners, any artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. It’s packed with live cultures and suitable for vegetarians or those with gluten-free diets. It’s only 5% fat.
Straight Up is available from Ocado and Waitrose with a RRP of £2.39 for a 500g tub and 79p for a 150g pot.
Gloriously luscious – much more of a quenelle than a dollop.
The Collective also have a Limited Edition Gourmet Yoghurt Christmas Pud – thick and creamy gourmet yoghurt with a double layer of Christmas compote, including whole juicy sultanas, warming winter spices and tangy orange zest for that festive flavour.
