The Russians Are Coming

Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Bangkok and Paris revealed as top Russian travel destinations in 2011.

March 22, 2012, Moscow –, a member of the OZON Group, has today announced annual gross booking sales of 3.2billion Rubles ($109m) for 2011, representing a three-and-a-half fold increase on 2010’s turnover of 898million Rubles ($29.9m).

The news caps a strong year of growth for Russia’s answer to Expedia, with traffic almost trebled to, up compared to the previous year, and a total of 12.7 million visitors to the site.

Visitors from Moscow and St. Petersburg comprised the majority (41%) of traffic, with the rest coming from other cities in Russia and from abroad.

The company has sought to capitalize on the growing Russian demand for eCommerce services, in travel in particular.

The leading international destinations for Russians are Kiev, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Bangkok and Paris.
