Brand new live venue HERE at Outernet has announced its first wave of shows in their 25,000 sq. ft. purpose built live events space, four storeys under Denmark Street in the heart of London. It is the first music venue to be built in the centre of the capital since the 1940s, and it’s in the area often described as the ‘birthplace of the modern British music industry’ where iconic artists such as Elton John, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, David Bowie hung out, made music – and was even home to the Sex Pistols.
Providing a much-needed central London venue for the global live music industry, HERE is an integral part of Outernet London, a billion pound immersive media, music and culture district located on the corner of Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road and Charing Cross Road.
HERE will sit beneath The Now Building – the most advanced experiential public space in the world – which features 23,000 sq foot of floor-to-ceiling 16K resolution screens situated behind 22 rectangular louvres that extend over three storeys and operate like theatre curtains revealing an urban gallery that is open to the public at street level. It even has fragrance ducts for that extra sensory experience!
The opportunities to combine both the physical and the digital on the giant screens are simply epic. From major movie premieres staged in a way that has never before been possible, to intimate artist showcases that could then be broadcast across the screens, the launch of Outernet’s live venues is a game changing moment. They will play host to a broad array of live music, dance, immersive theatre, awards shows, brand experiences and beyond.

A smaller more intimate space The Lower Third, a 250-capacity venue also launches in September at number 26 Denmark Street. The name is a nod to David Bowie‘s early band recording career here in the 1960s. The landmark venue formerly known as the 12 Bar Club was renowned for hosting early shows for acts who went on to reach stardom including Adele, Regina Spektor and Jeff Buckley. Booked in for Thursday 17th November 2022 is alternative jazz singer and ascending ‘soulstress’ Muva Of Earth at The Lower Third.
