In The Dark Live: HUSH and PULSE – 360° wall of live music

In The Dark’s first UK tour kicks off this autumn with music performances unlike any other. Calling at cathedrals, churches and historic venues, both HUSH and a brand-new production, PULSE, are musicians and vocalists creating a 360° wall of live music for you in the dark.

With standard concerts or gigs, the sound comes from one direction – at the front on a stage – and everyone hears roughly the same. With in the dark, there is no stage. Instead, the performers move around, through and amongst the crowd throughout the show, in multiple choreographed positions all without amplification. This is the DarkSpatial™ method, where the audience itself is the stage. The sound is never still, never the same, and you will never have experienced live music in this way.

The seated audience wears eye masks throughout, and with sight removed – there is no lighting of any kind,  so the listener’s attention shifts wholly to sound – a heightened, ever-changing wall of live music that moves, swells and recedes around every seat in the room.

After several sold-out London seasons, the show tours the UK for the first time this autumn with two shows, HUSH which is a cross-over of ambient, Scandi, nu-folk and experimental, with hints of electronic & classical and a new show launching in London, called PULSE which is more movement, momentum and drive.
