You’d think there’d been an outbreak of the black measles by the number of spots appearing on Thursday nights at Ibiza’s first sake experience bar at Space in Playa d’en Bossa. No need to get inoculated, sporting a black dot gets you €5 off for ENTER.Sake, the brainchild of pioneering DJ and producer Richie Hawtin, himself a trained sake sommelier who has personally hand-selected the premium sake that will be served at the bar. Hawtin has collaborated with renowned mixologist Albert Adrià from the 41° cocktail bar in Barcelona, who has created an exclusive cocktail menu for the venue. There’s an interactive ENTER.Interakt sound installation controlled with iPhone app Smudge. The shape of your Smudge will determine the type of sound and light which when activated triggers a corresponding audio/visual event in the room. Headphones highly recommended.
ENTER. is Richie Hawtin’s first solo residency on the island of Ibiza, taking place each Thursday night at Space in Playa d’en Bossa across 12 weeks (July 5 to September 20), with four rooms built on the principles of music, sake, technology and experience.
ENTER.Sake will open every Thursday from 10pm, offering a unique al-fresco experience for visitors to the island with the chance to enjoy intimate DJ sets from the leading names on the electronic music scene such as Francois K, Nina Kraviz, Carl Craig and Maya Jane Coles, whilst sampling what is set to become Ibiza’s drink.
