The waiting game is over for the UK’s pub goers as queuing at the bar becomes a thing of the past. Today sees the launch of new app Orderella, which allows customers to order and pay for drinks and food with their smartphone.

Operated by Fuller’s, London’s only remaining family brewer, The Parcel Yard becomes the first site in London to offer Orderella, which takes 90 seconds off the time taken to order for time-conscious Londoners. Simple and quick to use, the app means restaurant and bar-goers can spend less time queuing and more time socialising. Both food and drink bills are paid for through the smartphone so there is no need to waste time waiting for the bill.
Dennis Collet, Orderella CEO says; “Queuing is a very British tradition, but let’s face it, no one enjoys waiting at the bar. Orderella will completely change pub culture in the UK, making it a far more relaxed and sociable experience. We are delighted to be able to partner with Fullers to bring this cutting edge technology to London.”
Jonathon Swaine, managing director of Fuller’s Inns adds; “We’re excited to be the first to offer the Orderella app in London. Being based at a station, many of The Parcel Yard’s customers are busy travellers and business people, all of whom are on tight schedules. Being able to order and pay via an app is a huge benefit to them and I am anticipating a big demand.”
Download the Orderella app (on iPhone at the moment but Android expected within a couple of weeks). Order your drinks from your table or go and collect from the bar. You can even pre-order on your way to the pub. Once the drinks arrive at your table you don’t have to show any confirmation codes and there’s no waiting for a receipt. You can see your consumption and print out receipts from the app later.

The app was launched at the Keyworth Tavern in Nottingham on the 23rd October 2013, followed by its first London site, The Parcel Yard, on the 6th November 2013.
