Tea Horse & SeederBoard Win Awards at Launch48’s London Startups Showcase

Last night saw the return of Launch48’s Showcase to London, giving some of the UK’s hottest startups the opportunity to show off to VCs, accelerators, angel investors and the startup community.

The awards were judged by seven of the community’s leading figures including Jon Bradford, CEO of Springboard, Ben Tompkins, General Partner with Eden Ventures, Simon Jenner, CEO of Oxygen Accelerator and investors Hugh Chappell and Julian Ranger.

Tea Horse, the monthly subscription service for tea run by founder Ali Silk, was awarded B2C Launch48 Showcase Winner. Tea Horse was selected by the seven judges for its achievements to date in the B2C space, enabling both new and adventurous tea drinkers and foodies to sample and discover, in an otherwise complex market. Ali Silk said “I’m very proud that Tea Horse’s achievements have been recognised. With great results to date, including high margins and lifetime values, low churn rates and acquisition costs, as well as hugely positive consumer press and customer feedback, Tea Horse is showing early traction with the concept. B2B Launch48 Showcase Winner is SeederBoard, a startup to investor communications and reporting platform. The online software is designed to save startups time reporting financial information and key metrics to their boards and other investors, promoting transparency and better management. Tim Boeckmann, Founder of SeederBoard said “We have identified a real issue between startups and investors when it comes to managing relationships and seeking guidance. Experienced founders are always keen to communicate well with their backers. Investors like to know the state of their portfolio companies. We are working hard to make the process easier.” The software is currently in beta stage, working with selected investors and startups to develop further features.
