Trends in Belgian Chocolate at the Speciality Chocolate Fair

Speciality Chocolate Fair (#SCF14), incorporated within Speciality & Fine Food Fair (#SFFF14), is the UK’s only trade event dedicated to fine and artisan chocolate taking place 7th to 9th September at Olympia Grand, London.

During Speciality Chocolate Fair, Visit Flanders and Flanders Investment and Trade will be hosting a unique “Art of Belgian Chocolate” event at Olympia in the Pillar Hall, which adjoins Olympia Grand, on Monday 8th September. Fourteen exclusive Belgian chocolate producers will be showcasing their products for one day only.

Here’s a taste of what to expect:

Baru will show new additive-free Marshmallow Bars topped with flavourings such as dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Caramel, Chai Latte, Crunchy Cashew and Peppermint Fudge.

Belfine will show new Finger Puppets featuring three different chocolate figures. Belfine won 2nd prize at the Top Innovation Award at the International Chocolate and Candy Fair in Cologne in January this year.

Carré will show ChocOBeer Pralines which use high quality chocolate and Belgian beer. Carré chocolates were nominated in Belgium for the most creative entrepreneur for their ChocOBeer product.

Centho will show chocolate made from a subtle blend of fruit, spices, nuts and the “flavours of the world” taste collection. Centho won the 2013 International Chocolate Award for their ‘Salin’ salted caramel chocolates.

Dobla will show Chocolate Christmas Baubles this year and are one of the biggest manufacturers of Belgian handmade chocolates in the industry. Above is pictured one of their stunning chocolate flowers.

Delice will show the carefully crafted chocolate created by this family run business from the town of Kortrijk in West Flanders. Founded by the owner’s parents, Delice has an excellent reputation in Belgium and abroad.
