We’ve seen some sights in Soho over the years but never a field of ‘pick your own’ strawberries, bales of hay, country birds in hats and bottles of delicious Bloom Gin.
For a few days only, Bloom Pop-Up Gin Bar is at 47 Beak Street, London W1F 9SE from 12 – 8pm for free tasting of Bloom Premium London Dry Gin. Pick your own strawberries take them up to the bar tender and he’ll turn them into a refreshing, light, delicate gin and tonic drink.
We spoke to the gin Master Distiller, Joanne Moore, who is the first female and only the seventh Master Distiller of the Bloom gin brand since 1761. She credits her nose as the most important of the senses for being able to do her skillful job for scent, flavour and taste. Joanne oversees the entire gin making process from idea to creation. The gin is enriched by natural botanicals, including candied notes of honeysuckle, floral notes of chamomile and light citrus of pomelo to create a delicate floral gin. The detailing on the bottle is exquisite and is the story of the honey-suckled wrought ironwork gates of a grand old country estate with wild flower fields and strawberry patches.
Bloom is best served with the strawberry – the sweetness brings out the flavour of the gin. We found out and agree.
There’s a competition on Facebook and Twitter to win a luxury £200 picnic experience for you and three friends at the event.
