The first and most anticipated show saw Sassoon design the hair for Savile Row’s Spencer Hart debut show in London on Friday 17th June. The Creative team worked on a contemporary, stylish look that was perfectly in tune with the elegance and fluidity of Spencer Hart design. The hair was designed to look groomed, clean edges and barbered backs with wet look streamlining but given a twist by being ruffled in places with a matte texture. Team Leader Daniel McCourt said “We wanted to create the feeling of rebellion and attitude whilst retaining elegance and sophistication.” Blending Hart’s rebellious spirit with Jazz age influences and old school glamour, key looks included lightweight fabrics, textured finishes and classic suede shoes. The highlight of the show saw Benedict Cumberbatch walking in a dressing gown complete with a lit cigar. Talking to GQ magazine about his experience at the Old Selfridges hotel in London., the actor admitted to being nervous, downing the whiskey props and taking inspiration from Hugh Hefner, Playboy mogul.

Agi & Sam

As part of the TOPMAN show, Agi & Sam began their brand with the fundamental thought of designing for men. The Sassoon Creative Team styled the hair working with the natural texture of the models’ hair to create a soft, loose look which complimented the oversized floral prints and pastel paisleys on suits, cropped trousers and tailored shorts on long-haired, lean soccer players and rucksaked-up skateboarders.

Nicole Farhi

Sunday 17th June saw the Nicole Farhi show staged amidst the soaring marble of the Royal Institute of British Architects. The Sassoon Creative Team styled the hair and team leader Josh Gibson stated “the focus for the hair was on the shine and parting to give a pure, sleek look” which matched the designers sophisticated, relaxed and modern collection animated with gentle colour and tactile fabrics. Seaside nostalgia with sand, pebble, pale blue and terracotta basket-weave prints, raffia and towelling surfaces of childhood summer.

Omar Kashoura

Yesterday also saw ruggedly academic models on the runway for Omar Kashoura’s show with hands thrust in pockets whilst sporting a good deal of facial hair. Artistic principal Joshua Gibson and the Sassoon Creative Team worked with the natural parting of the models hair for a pure look to complement Kashoura’s colour scheme based on the oranges and mineral blues of the Burning Man’s  Black Rock Desert of North Nevada.
