DRINK: Tour de Teissiere at St Pancras Station

Oh those glorious summer hols in gites on the cote d’somewhere hot or in smokey cafe tabacs and poolside bars. Cast your mind back and you’ll see these great French icons on the shelves  of your childhood –  the sirops of Teissiere. Grenadine cordial seemed so exotic, so French. Well, they’ve taken their time, but Teissiere has finally landed in UK – on the Eurostar platform of St Pancras, to be precise, before heading into Waitrose and Ocado.

Wednesday 13th until Friday 15th of May, Teisseire will be transforming Searcy’s Champagne Bar in St Pancras station into Le Tour De Teisseire.

It’s the full range including the cordials, for home use or in bars for cocktails and the sirops and drops for coffees and hot chocolates.  These guys were doing smart coffee syrups long before Starbucks’ chic choc frappe malarkey. They add a dash of flavour to  water, coffee, hot chocolate, champagne, cider or even beer.

For  three days Teissiere have set up a bar at Searcys Grand Plaza St Pancras where travellers are offered a flight of three complimentary drinks – a cordial, cocktail and a coffee.

Kir Royale – a deeply delicious drink!

Sample the Framboise Cooler (still water, Teisseire raspberry and lemon juice), the Fraise de Champagne (champagne, Teisseire strawberry and a strawberry slice) and the Hazelnut White Mocha (white chocolate mocha with Teisseire hazelnut whipped cream) and a sneaky macaroon to round it off.

Yes, you read that right –  it’s free!

Pocket-sized Gourmet Drops for £2.79

A great new product that has found it’s way into my pocket is the Teissiere Gourmet Drops. For a luxury tasting coffee, the trick is to squirt a few drops into the milk before frothing.   The first sip is caramel heaven. I am taking it with me everywhere.
