Dans Le Noir? put on Michelin starred dinner for 10th anniversary

Dans le Noir?, the celebrated dining-in-the-dark restaurant staffed by blind people, is celebrating its 10th anniversary and decade of successful charitable ventures.

A gastronomic dinner for 50 of youth homelessness charity Centrepoint’s vulnerable 16-25 year-olds has been put together by Michelin-star chef and London head chef, John Houel – with the focus on heightened flavours. The menu is always a surprise – part of the experience – but expect exotic dishes.

Dans le Noir? and Centrepoint have joined forces to maximise awareness of the difficulties that blind and homeless young people, face when trying to get into employment. The Dans le Noir? guides are incredibly skilled and challenge the perception that blind or visually impaired can’t serve in a restaurant. Who could have said that 10 years ago?

Dans le Noir? is open daily for dinner from 6.30pm until 9.15pm, and lunch is available at the weekend from Midday to 2.30pm.

After initially launching in Paris, London, Barcelona, St Petersburg, temporary restaurants also opened in New York, Bangkok, Nairobi, Warsaw, Geneva, and Riyadh. The Old Course in St Andrews Scotland will also begin special nights on 26 March 2016.
