Best friends Ruth Syratt and Megan Stevenson run the vintage shop ChaChaCha in Muswell Hill, north London bringing a real-life documentary element to this sci-fi mockumentary. Stumbling across a time machine by the local bins, it occurs to them that stock could be much cheaper if they ‘borrow’ from the past (well, it’s free actually). They don’t want to change history, or rob banks, they just want to find a nice Victorian lamp or authentic 80s bum bag without getting sucked into the hellish time-space vortex that is “the Unreason”.
The thing is, as they’ll find out, Time Travel Is Dangerous…
Shakespeare Sisters & Candr Pictures have announced that their star-studded British sci-fi comedy Time Travel Is Dangerous, will be coming to UK cinemas from 28th March. Written and directed by Chris Reading and co-written and produced by Anna-Elizabeth and Hillary Shakespeare (the Shakespeare Sisters), the film stars British comedy royalty in Johnny Vegas (Benidorm, Bleak House), Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous), Sophie Thompson (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Gosford Park) & Mark Heap (Spaced, Green Wing).
Narrated by Stephen Fry the film also features stand-out performances from Brian Bovell (Love Actually, Gimme Gimme Gimme), Tony Way (After Life, Game of Thrones), Guy Henry (Harry Potter, Bridgerton: Queen Charlotte), Tom Lenk (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Laura Aikman (Gavin and Stacey, Archie) & Kiell Smith-Bynoe (Ghosts, Stath Lets Flats).
“Time Travel Is Dangerous is a quintessentially British comedy, blending witty dialogue, quirky characters and a touch of the absurd with a heartwarming core.”
