New Sensations supports the most imaginative and talented graduates from BA and MA courses across the U.K. and Republic of Ireland and presents their work to an international audience each year during Frieze Week. Chosen by a panel of judges, the New Sensations winner is awarded a cash prize to fund a studio for a year, generously supported by Absolut which returns for a third year as New Sensations partner.

New Sensations showcases works by 25 shortlisted artists and Saatchi Art, the world’s leading online art gallery, announced Charles Richardson as the winner of this year’s New Sensations Prize, widely regarded as the most important annual prize for emerging artists in the U.K.

We enjoyed meeting the ethereal Mollie Douthit,  with her wonderful fine art memory pieces.

“Bits” – a lime wedge triggers a memory of her grandmother who has a G.I. bride from London that went to live in Dakota USA.

“Show me that trick again” – is what her grandfather used to say when they had an accident and had to find a plaster.
