The first Brewhouse & Kitchen opens in London

Fancy supping a Suffragette Ninja? You can now do so  at London’s first Brewhouse & Kitchen in Islington. Already set up around the corner from Angel tube, and the second is set to open a couple of miles away, up towards Highbury.

Simon Bunn and Kris Gumbrell are passionate about their beer and have been behind a number of successful  brewpubs and popular bars. The first Brewhouse & Kitchen opened in Portsmouth in March 2013, followed by Brewhouse & Kitchen Dorchester. For the past two years, signature beers for London’s  mighty Craft Beer Rising festivals have been specially conceived and brewed in their brewpubs.

Reclaimed wood partner with industrial urban features, mismatched mirrors and gleaming copper to give a warm, comfortable feel. Adorning the long bar are lamps made from beer bottles and a beer tree.  The microbrewery stands at the back, where you will often see the head brewer, Pete Hughes,  at work or instructing a group for a Brewhouse & Kitchen Brewing Experience Day or beer tasting.

Bar and dining spaces for up to 120 where you can drink close-up at the bar, at your own table, or reserve an area for larger groups of up to 20. The food menu has its signature beer-can chicken,  beer battered fish & chips,  steak & beer pie, rib-eye steaks, pan-fried sea bass, Sunday roasts and  vegetarian dishes. Main courses are  priced from £10.
