The Hunger Games on Stage at Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre

Raising the curtain on a new era of entertainment with Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre.

The 1,200-capacity venue is scheduled to open in Autumn 2025, launching with the first-ever live stage adaption of Suzanne Collins’ internationally acclaimed book The Hunger Games and Lionsgate’s blockbuster film.

Complementing the theatre will be two stylish bars, a 100-cover restaurant, and an inviting external terrace overlooking the water.

Polycarbonate cladding that is partially transparent during the day.

This specially designed theatre is the home for Panem (the country where The Games takes place), allowing the world class team to create a transportive, electrifying experience that fully captures the scale and intensity of Suzanne Collins’ world. Spectators will feel like a part of the action in this dynamic in-the-round venue, developed with groundbreaking entertainment in mind.

Every element of staging has been tailored to transport audiences right into the heart of the Games.

Spanning over 3 floors, with an outside terrace overlooking Blackwall Basin, plus of course plenty of toilets, this new venue continues Troubadour’s legacy in creating contemporary, specious theatre spaces that are fully flexible for unique productions.

The theatre will be constructed using a demountable structure, incorporating repurposed materials from other sites and the wider neighbourhood, aligning with circular economy principles. Up to 95% of the structure and cladding and many internal components are able be reused for future buildings after the structure is dismantled.
