The Buffalo Bourbon Empire Buffalo Trace Launches Prohibition Inspired Pop‐Up Bar To Celebrate London Cocktail Week Monday 8th October to Friday 12th October, 2012.
This pop‐up bar, nestled in London’s West End, will be inspired by the Prohibition era from its discreet curtain-cloaked entrance through to the authentic American cocktails served by waiters donning spats and braces.
Whilst sipping a Sazerac cocktail of whiskey and bitters, prop yourself up on a barrel and try your hand at Craps, Toss the Boss or even make your own cocktails.
The Buffalo Bourbon Empire has bourbon tasting master-‐classes hosted by Master Blender Drew Mayville, a chance to win a trip to New York for 2 and of course a range of Buffalo Trace signature cocktails to be savoured from £4 for London Cocktail Week wristband holders or £7 without from 5pm– 10pm.

Buffalo Trace distillery, established in 1787, was one of only four distilleries in America to survive Prohibition, which lasted from 1919 until 1933. Prohibition marked a very successful period in the distillery’s history through the possession of a permit to continue distillation for medicinal purposes, during which over 6 million ‘whiskey prescriptions’ were fulfilled. On the banks of the famous Kentucky River where the buffalo crossed on their ancient westerly migratory route, Buffalo Trace is distilled, aged and bottled at the most award-winning distillery in the world. Crafted with the finest Kentucky and Indiana corn, selected rye and superior malted barley, this bourbon is aged in new oak barrels for 8 – 12 years in century old warehouses until the peak of maturity, determined by Master Blender Drew Mayville. Buffalo Trace has a complex aroma of vanilla, mint and molasses, a pleasantly sweet taste with notes of brown sugar, spice, oak and leather, and a long, dry yet smooth finish.
